Arrive Alive Tour Makes List For Best Organizations Fighting Distracted Driving

We are in the middle of Distracted Driving Awareness Month and the Arrive Alive Tour is continuing to make stops throughout the country to help raise awareness to the dangers of texting while driving and drinking while driving. With that in mind, we are proud to say that our hard work is being noticed. TeenSafe recently put out a list of the best organizations fighting distracted driving and guess who made the list? That is right, the Arrive Alive Tour!

Distracted Driving List

For their list, TeenSafe named the 14 best organizations that are fighting distracted driving. In their post, they said, “As the laws continue to adapt for the omnipresent lure of technology in the car, businesses, non-profit groups and other organizations also are doing their part to educate teens about distracted driving. It takes a village to create change, and while responsibility must begin at home, these organizations are leading the charge to help educate teens and their parents about the dangers of distracted driving.”

Still An Issue

While the Arrive Alive Tour is fighting to put an end to distracted driving, it is still an issue. We recently shared some data that shows which states are the worst at being distracted behind the wheel. From that list, it looks like the South has some issues with putting their phones down!

Distracted Driving For Teens

Of course, TeenSafe is working specifically with teens. While we attend colleges and businesses as well, the Arrive Alive Tour has been spending a lot of time at high schools this semester. Of course, you want to know the texting while driving stats for teens, which some are here:

  • 94% of teens acknowledge that texting while driving is dangerous. However, 35% of teens still text while driving!
  • Teen drivers are 4x more likely than adults to get into car accidents while using their cell phone.
  • 11 teens die everyday as a result of texting while driving.
  • One out of every 4 car accidents in the U.S. is caused by texting and driving.
  • Cell phone use is highest among 16-24 year old drivers.

We will continue the fight to put an end to distracted driving, so thanks for including us on your list TeenSafe!
