Miami High School Students Learn Dangers Of Texting And Driving

Getting a hands-on experience while learning about the dangers of texting and driving and drinking while driving was what it was all about at Miami High School in Oklahoma this week. Arrive Alive Tour made their way to Miami, Oklahoma, and brought their educational simulator with them, as the students got to sit in a real vehicle to learn what texting and driving can really do to a person.

Students at Miami high school are getting a chance to see what it’s like to drink and drive or text and drive.

The Unite’s “Arrive Alive Tour” hosted a driving simulator at the school today.

Students and staff could get behind the wheel and drive “drunk” or “text” while driving.

The simulator allows participants to experience the potential consequences of impaired or distracted driving in a controlled environment.

“The purpose of this is to uh bring awareness to our students the dangerous of texting and driving as well as driving under the influence in hopes that  they will develop better driving habits and hopefully save a live.” said Lisa Munson Principal.

The Unite’s “Arrive Alive Tour” was sponsored by Quapaw tribal substance abuse services.
