Texas Tech University Bringing The Arrive Alive Tour To Campus

It is National Collegiate Alcohol Awareness Week and Texas Tech University is bringing awareness to campus about the dangers of alcohol with the Arrive Alive Tour. The Risk Intervention & Safety Education (RISE) office will be hosting the Arrive Alive Tour, as our drinking and driving simulator will be available for students. This gives them a hands-on experience of learning the dangers of drunk driving.

The Risk Intervention & Safety Education (RISE) office will host UNITE’s Arrive Alive Tour for National Collegiate Alcohol Awareness Week.

10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Thursday (Oct. 26)

WHERE:

EVENT:
The tour uses a high-tech simulator, impact video and a number of other resources to educate the public about the dangers of intoxicated driving. The simulator allows participants to experience the potential consequences of impaired driving in a controlled environment.

Every two minutes, a person is injured in an accident that involves intoxicated driving. On average, two out of three people will be involved in an intoxicated driving accident in their lifetime. Every day, people drive intoxicated more than 300,000 times and only about 3,200 of them are arrested.

UNITE brings health and wellness programs to high schools, colleges and communities across the nation. Its programs are designed to heighten awareness of the dangers and consequences of impaired driving.
