Dangers of Distracted Driving

Nearly 90% of Americans have a cell phone, so it’s easy to see how its become one of the most common distractions while driving.Unfortunately, we are reminded of the dangers of distracted driving too often.Drivers under 20 have the highest proportion of distraction related fatal crashes according to the national highway traffic safety administration.

The most common accident while distracted driving is a rear end collision.

How long does it take to write a text on your phone? Seconds?

When driving 70 mph on the highway, every second you go almost 103 feet. That’s a lot of distance traveling while not watching the road.

Distracted driving can be in other forms than just texting. It could be putting on makeup, writing an email or checking Facebook or Twitter.
