CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) –The Arrive Alive Tour was at the  SEMO District Fair on Sunday.

Missouri Highway Patrol Corporal Clark Parrott hopes it will discourage distracted driving.

“The Southeast Coalition for Roadway Safety has brought in this Arrive Alive Tour display,” Parrott said. “The big thing we’re doing with it is showing the dangers of distracted driving through this they can go through different scenarios, as if you were driving through Cape Girardeau or whatever as if you were texting on your phone or even impaired by alcohol. It’s just to show you that you may think you can control a car but this is going to show you, you really can’t. And we just really want to try and educate people put your phone down and drive.”

What if I get a text message and you think you have to read it, or some food falls on the floor and you pick it up?

“No, driving needs to be your primary focus,” Parrott said.
